Our Gite was built in 1850 as a pigsty or en français porcherie. It has been carefully converted around the original oak frame, using as many traditional natural materials as possible to allow the building to breathe. All the walls, floor and ceiling have been well insulated.
It is completely self contained and offers comfortable self catering accomodation for 2 - 4 people.
The layout consists of a twin bedroom, shower room and kitchen living room. The kitchen has normal size appliances and is fully equipped. UK satellite TV, (As a result of the recent launch of 2 new satellites and the movement of all main stream channels to them, the signal strength and quality has been drastically cut. We have endeavoured to counter this with a new 1.4m monster dish. However, despite our best attempts we cannot guarantee a good picture.) Hi-Fi with USB and iPod dock (bring your own memory stick of MP3 or iPod docking adapter) and Wireless internet access are provided.
We have furnished it with as many period pieces of furniture as we could and the carpentry was all made on the premises. Outside, the private front terrace looks directly at the Pyrénées. The rear deck, again private, has stunning views across the Arrious valley, towards Peguilhan and St Fereol.
Access to a washing machine and a fan is available. A seasonal produce basket welcomes all visitors. All bedding, linen and towels for the gite and pool are provided.
